Water: Water once a week or when the top 25% of the soil feels dry to touch.
Pet-friendly: Not pet friendly.
Humidity: 50%-60% humidity or above is ideal. Use a humidifier or mist the leaves daily.
Temperature: Cannot tolerate temperatures below 45℉.
Fertilizer: The plant is not a heavy feeder but if you want your plant to have more flowers and bigger leaves and excellent growth feed twice or thrice during the growing seasons with a balanced houseplant fertilizer diluted to half strength. Use a liquid fertilizer. However, never feed during winter season.
Repotting: Peace lilies like to stay in their original pot for a relatively longer period of time but when they start wilting more frequently it's time to change the pot because by this time the roots have crowded up a bit too much that there's very little soil left to hold water. Choose a pot 2 inches bigger than the original pot. The plant requires well draining and loose potting soil.
Common Problems
Drooping Leaves: Peace lilies often tend to droop its leaves dramatically when it needs water. Drooping leaves is not concerning at all. Just give the plant enough water and the leaves will come back to their original shape. Repeated underwatering can cause brown tips or edges, which is not a major problem. If you want you can cut off the dead tips.
Yellow Leaves: If the lower leaves of the plant are turning yellow and are overly soft then you are giving your plant too much water. Hold back on watering for a few days. Let the top 25% of the soil dry out before watering. If it keeps on happening then it can lead to root rot. Root rot is fixed by repotting your plant in fresh soil and cutting off any dead and smudged roots during the process.
Brown Flowers and leaves: Flowers and Leaves of peace lily turning brown and dropping dead eventually is a natural process. If you're lucky then the flowers will bloom right after decaying off but sometimes it can take more than 2 weeks or so.
